Afterschool America
AI Policy
Last updated: September 2026
Why we have this policy
We believe in being straightforward with the families and donors who trust us. Artificial intelligence tools played a supporting role in building this website, and we want you to know exactly where AI is — and isn't — part of your experience.
Where AI is used
- Website content — AI tools assisted in drafting and editing some of the written content on this site. Every page is reviewed and approved by our team before it goes live, and our story, beliefs, and commitments are our own.
- Website design and code — AI-assisted tools helped our team build and maintain this website's design and functionality.
Where AI is not used
- Working with children — our programs are led by real people: screened, trained teachers, mentors, and volunteers. No part of a child's care or instruction at Afterschool America is automated.
- Decisions about people — we do not use AI to make decisions about program eligibility, enrollment, volunteers, or donors.
- Your conversations with us — when you contact us, a real team member reads your message and responds.
Your data and AI
We do not use your personal information — including contact form submissions, donation details, or any information about children — to train AI models. Information you share with us is used only for the purposes described in our Privacy Policy.
AI agents and giving
Our giving platform supports secure, standards-based "agentic giving," which allows an AI assistant acting on your behalf to help you make a donation. Any such gift is initiated and confirmed by you, processed through the same secure, PCI-compliant systems as any other donation, and subject to the same Donation Terms & Conditions.
Our promise
Technology serves our mission — it never replaces the relationships at the heart of it. If you ever have a question about how something on this site works, ask us directly. A person will answer.
